This is a very chunky puzzle. The pieces are quite thick. Easy for little hands to manipulate. My daughter was about 10 months old wehn we got this, leaving me to think that the age rating could be lowered from 2+ down to 9 months.

I love these puzzles for my grandson. They are so easy for his little fingers to grab, they are colorful and have a nice texture. They are educational and age appropriate. I would highly recommend these puzzles.

These wood puzzles from Melissa & Doug are great. They are durable and fun. And it's a great tool for teaching your kid the difference between a moth and a butterfly, a fly and a bee.
I bought this toy as a gift for my grandson, but haven't given it to him yet. May 5, 2009

I bought this toy for my grandson's 2nd birthday next month, at the request of his mother , so I don't know how he'll like it, but I know that Melissa and Doug toys are highly rated for their durability and ease of use for little ones. I myself love how brightly the toys are colored, and the fact that they are made for little hands.
