Beautiful puzzle for learning the alphabet March 30, 2010

We bought this for our three-year-old grandniece's recent birthday. It is a beautifully painted item with pieces nicely sized for small hands. It is described as being appropriate for children 36 months to six years but I think 36-months is too young and would suggest that this item is more appropriate for a child no younger than three-and-a-half years and probably best for a four year old or older. Than said, our grandniece enjoys looking at and handling the pieces and putting the puzzle together with considerable help from an adult.
